On June 22, the establishment meeting of consular protection liaison officers and consular protection training was held at the embassy of the PRC in Republic of India. Ambassador Zhaohui Luo, Minister Counselor Guangzhong Cheng, Counselor and Consul General Xiaoce Yan, as well as the first batch of consular protection liaison officers and media representatives attended the conference. The first 16 consular protection liaison officers are from Chinese-funded enterprises, overseas Chinese, overseas students and lawyers, taking into account different identities and professional backgrounds, and the actual needs of consular protection work in different states and regions.

Ambassador Zhaohui Luo, based on his personally experience in handling several major consular protection cases, emphasized that wherever Chinese citizens go, consular protection services will follow up. The establishment of a consular protection liaison mechanism by the embassy of the PRC in Republic of India is an important measure to implement the concept of "people-oriented, diplomacy for the people" and an important part of building a "great consular protection" work pattern. At the same time, liaison officer shall have professional knowledge, service means, security awareness, and acknowledge rules and laws to provide service and help to Chinese citizens in India. Afterwards, Ambassador Zhaohui Luo witnessed the signing of the letter of commitment by the consular protection liaison officers, issued a letter of appointment to the consular protection liaison officers, and took photos with representatives from all walks of life attending the meeting.

Lawyers Yu Tang and Xueshan Huang from Landing (India) Law Firm are also honored to be the first batch of consular protection liaison officers of the embassy of the PRC in Republic of India as lawyer representatives. Lawyer Yu Tang introduced the main legal issues related to consular protection and the main legal provisions of India. Participants expressed that they benefited a lot.
