From June 1 to June 2, 2023, the China International Contractors Association and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute co-hosted the "14th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum" in Macau.

During the opening ceremony, over 61 dignitaries, including more than 40 ministerial-level guests from around the world, jointly kicked off the forum. Furthermore, over 700 institutions from more than 60 countries and regions, representing more than 3,000 industry delegates, attended the forum.

Representatives from Shanghai Landing Law Offices, including the Senior Partner of the International Trade Investment Department, Lawyer Wang Yunqing; the Partner of the Construction Engineering and Real Estate Department, Lawyer Liu Zhaofu; and Zhang Zhenyu from Lawyer Liu's team; along with the Director of the Landing Zhejiang, Lawyer Xing Xu, were invited to attend the forum.

During the conference, representatives of Landing Lawyers were received by the Deputy Secretary-General of the China International Contractors Association and the Director of Engineering and Investment Department, Mr. Su Jianguo. The two sides cordially discussed the legal service needs and risks faced by Chinese-funded enterprises investing in infrastructure and undertaking construction projects in countries along the Belt and Road. Deputy Secretary-General Su encouraged the attending Landing Lawyers to actively contribute their professional and dedicated services to protect the interests and prevent risks for Chinese enterprises operating overseas.

Throughout the forum, Landing's representatives also engaged in enthusiastic discussions with representatives from foreign law firms on their respective business areas.

Concurrently, the 9th China-LAC Infrastructure Forum was held. Deputy Minister of Commerce of China, Guo Tingting, and the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure of Nicaragua, Óscar Salvador Mojica Obregón, delivered opening speeches. The forum included themed events such as "Green Transformation, Digital Innovation Leading the New Development of China-LAC Infrastructure Cooperation" and a dialogue on "New Infrastructure Promoting High-Quality Development of China-LAC Cooperation". Thirteen ministerial officials responsible for infrastructure cooperation from 12 Latin American and Caribbean countries, representatives of international organizations, and about 600 participants from Chinese government departments, financial institutions, contractors, and industry chain enterprises attended related activities.

On the afternoon of June 2, the dialogue on "New Infrastructure Promoting High-Quality Development of China-LAC Cooperation" was held as scheduled. The China-LAC Infrastructure Forum is the first professional forum in the field of infrastructure under the framework of the China-LAC Forum, playing an active role in promoting infrastructure connectivity between China and LAC. Deputy Secretary-General Su Jianguo acted as the moderator, with Lawyer Wang Yunqing being an invited guest.

The theme of the forum was "Green Leadership, Digital Drive, Financial Empowerment, and Win-Win Cooperation". Over 3,000 guests attended from more than 60 countries and regions, including Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Amarsaikhan and over 40 ministerial-level guests, executives from nearly 20 financial institutions, 70 top 250 ENR international contractors, over 10 international organizations, and over 10 international business associations, with more than 700 companies and institutions participating.

For the first time, the forum held a professional exhibition. Representatives from Landing Lawyers visited the exhibition booths of overseas engineering companies and engaged in exchanges with the exhibiting companies.

The exhibitors at the exhibition were exceptionally strong, including industry-leading enterprises and institutions such as China Communications Construction, China State Construction, China Railway Construction, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, China Power Construction, China Energy Construction, and CRRC. The exhibition area focused on industry trends such as green low-carbon, digital drive, and connectivity, showcasing the achievements and image of the ten-year international cooperation of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and comprehensively enhancing the international influence of the "Chinese Construction" brand.
