On the morning of March 27th, 2023, Pu Kan, the Chairman of the international organization Lancang-Mekong Development Foundation, along with Deputy Secretary-General Guan Xin, Shanghai representatives Li Yuena and Yu Xiao, Vice Chairman of the Foundation's Cultural and Education Committee Dong Qixin, Foundation Advisor Wu Jiankang, and others visited the law firm. They were received by Yin Jun, Executive Director of the law firm, Senior Partner Lawyer Zhang Yijun, and Lawyer Li Xinli. Discussions were held on topics such as charity, public welfare, and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, Chairman Pu Kan pointed out that the comprehensive opening of the China-Laos Railway comes at a new context of enhanced bilateral exchanges between China and Laos. This backdrop has generated significant demand for legal services across various sectors in Laos. As two countries with socialist systems, he believes that closer China-Laos cooperation can contribute to the improvement of Laos' legal system through the assistance of Chinese lawyers.

Guan Xin mentioned that the Foundation's visit to China this time follows the resolution of the pandemic and coincides with Laos becoming the rotating chair of ASEAN next year. As an international public welfare organization established in 2019, the Lancang-Mekong Development Foundation aims to strengthen China-Laos exchanges and wishes to engage in more activities to enhance connections with China and promote mutual understanding.

Dong Qixin elaborated on the current "Lancang-Mekong Hand-in-Hand Project" of the Foundation. She stated that the third phase of this project will be launched when the First Lady of Laos visits China. In addition, the Foundation will focus on public welfare initiatives like midwifery training and handicraft skills training. The goal is to closely align public welfare projects, national tasks, and foreign demands, mobilize grassroots efforts, and seek substantial support from Landing Law Offices for the gradual growth and development of the Lancang-Mekong Development Foundation.

During the discussions, Lawyer Yin Jun introduced Landing Law Offices to the visiting guests, including the firm's sponsorship of the Hundred Students Overseas Internship Program and the Hundred Lawyers Going Global Program. He also mentioned that Landing Law Offices will host the Landing Overseas Investment Legal Forum in Luang Prabang, Laos in May this year. Lawyer Zhang Yijun highlighted various charity and public welfare activities that Landing Law Offices actively participates in, emphasizing the firm's consistent engagement in the charitable domain and its commitment to increasing contributions to the field. Lawyer Li Xinli provided insights into the present status and future goals of Landing Law Offices' international business, underscoring the firm's strategic focus on the legal service markets of the six Lancang-Mekong countries and expressing hope for the Foundation's support in expanding its business in the region.
