On March 14, 2023, the Forum on 2023 Transnational Operation Dialogue of Investment in Netherlands was successfully held in Chongqing. This development forum was hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Chongqing. The event was organized by the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency and the Chongqing Association of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Enterprises, with support from the "Go Global" Service Platform.

Landing was honored to be invited to the event, represented by Senior Partner and Head of European Practice, Lawyer Xiang Tang, as well as Ms. Xiaoxing Xing, the Director of Landing (Chongqing) Law Offices. Lawyer Xiang Tang delivered a compelling speech on legal aspects of investing in the Netherlands. He shared his practical experience in dealing with cross-border investment matters, particularly in assisting Chinese enterprises with establishing companies in the Netherlands and providing legal consultations related to Dutch investments. His presentation covered various topics, including common legal entities under the Dutch legal framework and their respective characteristics, the steps for establishing a Dutch private limited liability company, procedures for China's outbound direct investment filing, Dutch labor law and employment contracts, and regulations regarding work permits (TWV and GVVA) in the Netherlands.

The focus of this meeting was "2023 Transnational Operation and Investment in Netherlands." As the world's fourth-best country for doing business according to Forbes, the Netherlands stands as a true world-class business destination. Strategically located as the gateway to Europe, its geographical advantage allows companies to swiftly enter the European market. Within 24 hours of departing from Amsterdam or Rotterdam, one can reach 95% of Europe's main consumer markets. Additionally, the Netherlands offers favorable tax policies, a highly educated and multilingual workforce, superior logistics and technological infrastructure, an open and competitive international business environment, adaptable consumers, and an open business culture. As a result, numerous multinational companies, both small and large, have chosen the Netherlands as their European gateway. Benefiting from world-class research institutions and strong public-private partnerships, the Netherlands has witnessed flourishing industries in agriculture and food, IT, chemicals, high-tech systems, life sciences, healthcare, and creative sectors. These well-established international operations have attracted investment interest, making the forum's discussions about the challenges and opportunities of investing in the Netherlands highly relevant.

Landing's European practice team is composed of specialized lawyers from Landing's offices worldwide. Their services span various fields, including direct investments by Chinese enterprises in Europe (including mergers and acquisitions of local companies), post-investment management (involving corporate and labor laws of the investment country), trademark and patent registration, compliance reviews and advice, drafting and reviewing foreign-related contracts, participating in cross-border negotiations, providing legal services for bidding activities of overseas engineering projects, and handling litigation and arbitration cases related to foreign economic matters, such as international trade disputes.
