On Sept.30, 2022, LANDING and Tongji University Law School held the signing ceremony of practice base and symposium on collaborative cultivation mechanism for excellent legal talents at Shanghai LANDING Law Offices. Managing Partner of LANDING Mr. LIU Yixing extended warm welcome to Dean Mr. Jiang and other fellow guests, and accompanied the guests on a visit to the law firm.

 

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Jiang recounted the story of the relationship between Tongji University and LANDING in a witty and humorous tone, and then reviewed the history of Tongji University and Tongji Law School, focusing on the current state of TJLS and emphasizing the significance of practical teaching into talent cultivation. He highly praised LANDING’s spirit of tolerance and inclusiveness, as well as our enthusiasm and sense of responsibility for cultivating legal talents. Mr. Jiang pointed out that the cooperation between LANDING and Tongji University vividly embodied the educational concept of integrating practical teaching into talent cultivation, which was of epoch-making significance.

 

 

Mr.LIU Yixing spoke highly of TJLS efforts in teaching reform, pointing out that LANDING and TJLS fit with each other inherently in the development trajectory. Then Mr. Liu reviewed LANDING’s history and emphasized the key role played by the national confidence and confidence in the path of Chinese characteristic socialism in LANDING’s development, pointing out that Shanghai featured potential for development and played a demonstration role in China’s process of internationalization of law. Furthermore, Mr. Liu pointed out the path for the future cooperation between LANDING and TJLS combined with the current development hotspot of metaverse moot court, which was recognized by the guests.

 

Afterwards, Mr. Jiang and Mr. Liu co-signed the cooperation agreement, which was aimed to promote and realize the in-depth cooperation and development in legal research and talent cultivation between LANDING and TJLS.

 

Mr. Jiang issued certificates for extracurricular mentors to and took pictures with LANDING lawyers Ms. ZHANG Huan’e, Mr. TIAN Jie, Ms. GUO Xiping, Ms. JIANG Chunyan, Ms. HAN huanhuan, Ms. JIA Xinyan and Ms. LIU Qing.

 

In the following symposium, Mr. XU Wenhai firstly introduced the status quo of TJLS legal clinic and expressed his expectation of expanding scope of the practice base. Mr. Xu pointed out that with the reopening of legal clinic, the integrity and professionalism of LANDING lawyers’ lectures were impressive. Furthermore, LANDING and TJLS have good cooperative prospects in interdisciplinary curriculums and foreign-related legal practice.

 

Ms. LIU Bo firstly pointed out that students from TJLS were of high academic standards and with an interdisciplinary background. She stated that under the call of Ministry of Education for practical education and “three-wide” education, the cooperation between LANDING and TJLS can maximize the resources of both sides. Then, Ms. Liu focused on the details and proposed that there’s room for improvement in cooperation on the matters like LANDING-Tongji scholarship and internship base.

 

Ms. Yan analyzed the challenges and opportunities of legal clinic from the perspective of a young teacher of TJLS, emphasizing the importance of the combination of theory and practice.

 

 

Ms. JIANG Chunyan pointed out that LANDING and TJLS should learn from each other and make progress together. TJLS students can get the opportunities for learning and practice from LANDING and LANDING lawyers can acquire valuable opportunities for theoretical learning from TJLS. Ms. Jiang indicated that the developmental and cooperative relationship between LANDING and TJLS is aimed at helping students to improve their practical skills during school and facilitating their future internship and employment, which reflects LANDING high sense of social responsibility.

 

Mr. Liu stated that LANDING can not only provide intern opportunities for TJLS students, but also broaden students’ mindset on employment and optimize their career path in advantage of LANDING’s vast office’s locations and impacts across the country.

 

Starting with his personal experience, Mr. YIN Jun highly valued the feasibility and significance of the metaverse Moot Court. Mr. WU Bin believed that under the call of “three-wide education”, both parties should utilize their respective advantages to expand the scope of cooperation. Mr. TIAN Jie introduced his team’s expectations for the cooperative relationship between the two parties. Ms. ZHANG Huan’e introduced the current state of LANDING department of Family Affairs and Wealth Inheritance and expressed LANDING’s sincere desire to build a better future with TJLS.

 

Afterwards, LANDING lawyers Ms. GUO Xiping, Ms. HAN Huanhuan, Ms. JIA Xinyan, Ms. LIU Qing reported their work as the extracurricular mentors, shared teaching experience and spoke highly of the excellent legal mindset, learning capability and potentials of TJLS students.

 

 

Dean Jiang pointed out that this symposium has enhanced the bilateral understanding, deepened the cooperative relationship between the two sides, and showed the direction for the cooperation between LANDING and TJLS. Mr. Jiang believed that LANDING boasts a high degree of professionalism and social responsibility, and is highly compatible with the value orientation of TJLS, so the constructive cooperation between the two sides is in line with the market demand and the expectations of the era. Mr. LIU Yixing highly affirmed the philosophy of TJLS to perform real deeds for students. The two sides had a warm and friendly discussion on the prospects of cooperation, and looked forward to jointly promoting their cooperative relationship, determined to make contributions to the China’s cause of rule of law and education.
