On September 22, 2023, a specialized salon focusing on Game AI Applications and AIGC Safety Compliance was successfully organized. This collaborative event was orchestrated by Shanghai Landing Law Offices and NetEase Smart Enterprise.

In the wake of the global gaming industry's exponential growth, an increasing number of gaming corporations are exploring new avenues for expansion. The advent of Chat GPT in 2022, along with its resultant large-scale models and AIGC-related technologies, has offered game developers fresh perspectives on creativity and gameplay. Yet, the legal landscape for these technologies varies significantly across different jurisdictions. The recently issued "Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services" by China Cyberspace Administration has introduced a plethora of compliance challenges for industry participants.

To navigate this intricate web of regulatory requirements, Shanghai Landing Law Offices and NetEase Smart Enterprise took the initiative to host this specialized salon. They extended invitations to experts within the field as well as seasoned gaming professionals, aiming to collaboratively explore safety compliance matters concerning the deployment of AIGC technologies in gaming.

The event featured enlightening presentations from key stakeholders, including Senior Advisor Ye Juan from Shanghai Landing Law Offices, Game AI Technology Specialist Xu Yuhong from NetEase Smart Enterprise, and Technology Expert Ma Ruochen from NetEase YiDun.

Senior Advisor Ye Juan of Shanghai Landing Law Offices led a segment centered on "Essential Compliance Factors for Gaming Enterprises Utilizing AIGC Technology." She employed real-world scenarios and case studies to shed light on the legal intricacies faced by gaming enterprises in the application of AIGC technology, including issues of copyright infringement, data protection, and user privacy. She underscored the dual nature of AIGC technologies: while they offer transformative possibilities, they also introduce unique legal challenges that must be carefully navigated.

NetEase's Smart Enterprise division's gaming AI expert, Xu Yuhong, delivered a presentation entitled "Applications and Trends of AIGC in the Gaming Industry." Using the complete lifecycle of a game as a framework, Xu explored practical applications of AIGC technology in various aspects of gaming, such as AI-driven game bots, big data analytics systems, and virtual gaming characters.

Tech Expert Ma Ruochen from NetEase's YiDun presented on "Content Compliance Challenges in AIGC-Enabled Gaming." During his session, Ma Ruochen outlined specific scenarios where AIGC introduces content security risks and proposed a holistic solution for information logic reasoning based on AIGC technology.

Following these in-depth thematic presentations, the event transitioned into a roundtable dialogue. Attendees engaged in a robust discussion about NetEase Games' utilization of AIGC technology, the need for algorithmic compliance, and the intricacies of content moderation.

The conference offered a dual focus on both technical and legal issues surrounding the deployment of AIGC technology within the gaming sector. It drew the participation and active engagement of representatives from multiple companies, including Lilith, Bilibili, and Yoozoo. Shanghai Landing Law Offices, ever attentive to emerging technologies and regulatory trends, is dedicated to offering innovative solutions and actionable legal advice to businesses. Going forward, Landing will continue to host similar events in this domain, extending an open invitation for all interested parties to attend and contribute.
