On September 23, 2023, the Shenzhen Lawyers' Innovation and Cooperation Forum, centered on the theme of "Elevating the Legal Profession in the New Era through High-Quality Development," officially commenced at the Crowne Plaza Shenzhen Futian. Initiated for the first time by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, the forum is designed to augment the professional stature of Shenzhen-based lawyers. It serves as an expansive platform for collaborative initiatives, aiming for holistic and substantive cooperation and the achievement of mutual benefits and shared growth. The forum aspires to evolve into a cornerstone event that defines the professional brand of Shenzhen's legal community. The multifaceted event, comprising one main forum, 12 specialized sub-forums, and an exhibition showcasing professional accomplishments, is scheduled to run until September 24. The core discussions in the main forum are geared towards high-quality advancements in the legal field in this new era. Furthermore, the event will feature sub-forums that delve into crucial areas such as the development of the He-Tao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Technological Innovation Cooperation Zone, intellectual property benchmarking, corporate compliance best practices, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development, and the establishment of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Legal Services Zone.
The specialized sub-forum focusing on "Advancements in High-Quality International Legal Services" took place on September 24, 2023, in Shenzhen's Futian District. Esteemed attendees included Wang Xianjun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Futian District Bureau of Justice; Zhou Xuan, Vice President of the Guangdong Lawyers Association; and Zeng Mai, Vice President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. They were joined by representatives from over 60 enterprises and legal firms. The gathering aimed to amplify research in Shenzhen's international legal theory and practice, foster industry-wide dialogue, and catalyze high-quality growth in Shenzhen's international legal services.
In the roundtable segment, Mr. Feng Haibin, along with other distinguished guests, engaged in rigorous discussion and shared insights on the subject of "Regulatory Harmonization in He-Tao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation." Mr. Feng elaborated on three pivotal points: "Customs regulations as the linchpin for legal harmonization between Shenzhen and Hong Kong," " Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) as a paradigm for customs regulatory convergence," and "The lessons CEPA offers for Shenzhen-Hong Kong regulatory synchronization." His contributions offered invaluable perspectives for enhancing legal and procedural congruence between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, thus laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
