On November 16, 2023, the appointment ceremony for part-time supervisors of master's students at the Public Legal Service Research Institute of East China University of Political Science and Law, as well as the research exchange and Q&A session on full-member partnership projects, was held at the global headquarters of Shanghai Landing Law Offices.
Yang Kai, Dean of the Public Legal Service Research Institute of East China University of Political Science and Law, attended the signing ceremony along with more than ten students from the university. Yin Jun, Executive Director of Shanghai Landing Law Offices, Wang Zhan, Secretary of the CPC Branch of Shanghai Landing Law Offices, and Mrs. Su Shu, Executive Director of Shanghai Landing Law Offices, also attended the ceremony.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Yin Jun, Executive Director of Shanghai Landing Law Offices, extended a warm welcome to Dean Yang Kai and his delegation. In his speech, Director Yin reviewed his own campus life at East China University of Political Science and Law and mentioned the previous collaborations between LANDING and the ECUPL. Through the interaction and communication with Dean Yang Kai, they reached a consensus on issues such as digitization, the integration of law and technology, and the cultivation of talent.
Looking back at Shanghai Landing Law Offices’ development, it is not difficult to see that the partnership system has had a significant impact. East China University of Political Science and Law regards the full-member partnership system of Shanghai Landing Law Offices as a research topic, which not only demonstrates trust in LANDING but also affirms its institutional innovation.
Dean Yang Kai of the Public Legal Service Research Institute at East China University of Political Science and Law highly praised Shanghai Landing Law Offices, stating that the basis for this cooperation lies in the shared values between the two parties, and the opportunity for cooperation stems from research on the national legal profession.
The research found that the law firm system is an important aspect of the development of law firms, and most law firms adopt foreign systems such as corporate systems and partnership systems, which also reflect some difficulties in adapting to the local context during China's legal construction process. The partnership system adopted by Landing Law Offices conforms to the mainstream values of contemporary society and suits the Chinese context. In the process of modernizing China's legal system, it has contributed its own strength to the institutional innovation of law firms throughout the country. It is hoped that through this cooperation, excellent legal professionals with expertise in law firm management can be better cultivated.
Subsequently, the appointment ceremony for part-time supervisors for master's students at the Public Legal Service Research Institute at East China University of Political Science and Law took place. Dean Yang awarded Lawyer Wang Zhan, Lawyer Pu Guiping, Lawyer Gan Jiong (represented by Lawyer Pei Yijing), Lawyer Ding Xueming, and Lawyer Wang Yunqing with certificates as part-time tutors for master's students, and they took a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
After the appointment ceremony, a symposium was held where both parties discussed the topic of full-member partnership.
After Director Yin Jun introduced the development of full-member partnership system, students from East China University of Political Science and Law raised their own questions and concerns regarding the support of the concept, salary distribution, talent cultivation, performance evaluation, and management mechanisms. These concerns were addressed one by one.
After the successful conclusion of the symposium, both parties took a group photo together.
