On the afternoon of October 20, 2025, Landing Law Offices and PINHÃO E KOIFFMAN ADVOGADOS (“PK Law Firm”) successfully held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony at the Landing Tower in Shanghai, and jointly hosted the China–Brazil International Legal Forum. Leaders from the Hongkou District Judicial Bureau were invited to attend, along with special guests including Xu Yong, Party Secretary of the School of International Business and Management at Shanghai International Studies University, who jointly witnessed this important milestone in China–Brazil legal cooperation.

The event commenced under the moderation of He Yunxuan, Resident Representative of Landing Law Offices in Brazil.

Landing’s Global Management Committee Director Lawyer Liu Yixing delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming all guests and emphasizing the significance of China–Brazil legal collaboration in promoting bilateral investment and trade.

This was followed by remarks from Secretary Xu Yong of Shanghai International Studies University, who expressed strong confidence in the future of China–Brazil cross-border legal services.

With all guests present as witnesses, Landing Law Offices and PK Law Firm formally signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, marking the beginning of deep collaboration in the fields of cross-border investment, commercial dispute resolution, and legal compliance. The two firms will work together to provide comprehensive legal support for Chinese enterprises investing in Brazil.

Following the signing ceremony, both sides engaged in thematic presentations and panel discussions on topics including “Case Studies on Chinese Investment in Brazil,” “Legal Practice in China–Brazil Cross-border Investment and Trade,” and “Brazil’s Economic Landscape and Investment Opportunities for Chinese Enterprises.”

During the individual presentation session, He Yunxuan, Resident Representative of Landing’s Brazil practice, delivered a talk titled Practical Legal Experience for Chinese Enterprises Expanding into Brazil. He provided a concise yet precise overview of Brazil’s policy advantages for Chinese investment and outlined key risks and considerations in Brazilian tax compliance, labor law, anti-corruption regulations, and intellectual property protection. He further shared the good news that Landing’s São Paulo office is expected to be formally established by the end of the year, and demonstrated the use of Landing’s newly launched “Nezha Global Expansion” mini-program.

Felipe Assis of PK Law Firm then delivered a keynote speech on “Business Opportunities in Brazil and Legal Risk Prevention”, offering an in-depth analysis of Brazil’s investment potential in technology, energy, agriculture, and e-commerce, while highlighting critical compliance and regulatory risks faced by foreign investors concerning judicial enforcement, market access, and corporate governance.

PK Law Firm’s founding partner Nelson Koiffman provided a further deep dive into “The Unique Features of Brazil’s Legal Framework.” From tax reform to labor judicial practice, regional incentive policies, and foreign investment registration requirements, he systematically explained the complexities of Brazil’s legal environment and proposed practical strategies for navigating them.

During the roundtable forum, Landing lawyers He Yunxuan and Qin Yiwen, together with two lawyers from PK Law Firm, engaged in an in-depth discussion on key issues such as dispute resolution mechanisms between China and Brazil, the impact of regional economic dynamics on investment, and the increasing demand for multidisciplinary legal talent. Drawing from real cases, the panel analyzed common legal challenges faced by Chinese companies in Brazil and shared practical solutions.

This event not only built a high-level platform for China–Brazil legal practice exchange but also provided valuable legal insights and resource support for Chinese enterprises going abroad.
