The internationally respected legal publication "Asian Legal Business" (ALB) has recently unveiled its "2022 ALB China Client Choice" list. Gao Qiao, a Senior Partner in the Intellectual Property Department at Landing Law Offices, has been bestowed this prestigious accolade in recognition of his professional expertise, service excellence, and coordination capabilities. This distinction follows his recent achievement of the 2022 ALB China Young Lawyer of the Year: East China, marking yet another industry acknowledgment for him.
"Asian Legal Business" (ALB), a leading legal magazine under the umbrella of Thomson Reuters, ranks among the most influential legal media outlets worldwide. It endeavors to furnish clients and readers with cutting-edge legal business insights and evaluations of law firms, often likened to the "Forbes" within the legal sphere. Over the past year, the legal requirements of Chinese clients have grown increasingly complex and innovative, demanding that lawyers provide highly specialized and creative solutions. Concurrently, as commercial organizations grapple with general pressures, the ensuing "anxiety" often requires lawyers to provide more empathetic and warm-hearted services. This year's ALB survey, which included the participation of over 2,600 corporate legal and business professionals, reflected these insights, as they offered candid evaluations of their legal partners who have stood by them through various challenges.
Gao Qiao, a Senior Partner at Landing Law Offices, holds a Master's degree in Law from East China University of Political Science and Law. He also serves as an external mentor at the Shanghai University’s School of Law. He has been recognized as a legal standout in the China Business Law Journal 2021's A-List, as a rising star among lawyers (one of 50 young elite lawyers in China), and as a 2022 ALB China Client Choice’s lawyer. With over a decade of legal practice, Gao specializes in intellectual property and unfair competition legal services in fields including the internet, creative culture, film and entertainment, and advanced technology. His areas of expertise encompass copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, domain names, franchising, and technology transfer and development. He is skilled in managing significant and challenging intellectual property and unfair competition disputes in these industries. Gao has represented several nationally influential cases. For example, he handled the "huya.com.cn" infringement and unfair competition dispute case involving a renowned streaming platform, marking the first domestic case of an unfair competition dispute triggered by domain name redirection. Additionally, the "zhoulibo.com" domain name ownership dispute case he represented was recognized as one of the "Top 10 Typical Cases of Intellectual Property Judicial Protection of Shanghai in 2012" and among the "List of 50 Exemplary Cases of Intellectual Property Judicial Protection in Chinese Courts in 2012" selected by the Supreme Court.
