On the evening of November 10, 2022, Landing Law Offices' first plenary session of the inaugural Youth Work Committee was successfully conducted online. This session was presided over by Zheng Lirong, the Secretary-General of Landing's Youth Work Committee, and was structured into four parts: an address by Director Liu Yixing of Landing's Global Executive Committee, remarks by Li Wenzhi, the Director of Landing's Youth Work Committee, discussions among committee members, and summative comments by Zhang Bing and Ye Yunkai. More than twenty lawyers from Landing's headquarters and branches attended the meeting.
The session began with an announcement by Zheng Lirong, the Secretary-General of Landing's Youth Work Committee, who informed the members about the smooth communication and mutual acceptance within the first leadership group of the committee since its establishment. They all share a common vision to assist Landing's young lawyers in their growth, laying a strong foundation for the Youth Work Committee's future endeavors.
In the following director's address, Director Liu Yixing commenced by recognizing the remarkable grace exhibited by the young lawyers of Landing's Youth Work Committee in a series of activities conducted in Nanchang and Qingdao. Director Liu emphasized that Landing harbors an ambitious business vision, and the aspiration to cultivate a Chinese-led international legal powerhouse essentially hinges on the cadre of young lawyers. Confronted with an ever-competitive legal field, Director Liu perceives the passion and vitality inherent in young lawyers as essential traits that enable them to differentiate themselves within the vast legal profession. Passion and vitality are vital to legal practice, and Landing is committed to providing an open, cohesive, and embracing platform for its enthusiastic young lawyers. The Youth Work Committee is tasked with translating this noble aspiration into reality, fostering a cooperative community among Landing's young lawyers, and empowering every youthful individual to excel. Simultaneously, Director Liu expressed hope that young lawyers would embody the spirit of commitment, professionalism, persistence, collaboration, and enjoyment, collectively contributing to the various activities orchestrated by the Youth Work Committee, thereby amplifying the positive energy characteristic of young legal professionals.
Next, Li Wenzhi, the Director of Landing's Youth Work Committee, briefed the members on the committee's current status, focusing on four core areas: organizational structure, collaborative entities, branding of activities, and funding sources. Subsequently, Li Wenzhi also outlined the future developmental prospects for Landing's Youth Work Committee. He noted that the committee has already lined up public welfare activities and skill competitions, and intends to create platforms like "Landing Youth" public accounts and video channels for online promotion, to more effectively highlight the prowess of Landing's exceptional young lawyers.
In the ensuing segment where the committee members engaged in discussion, the conversation mainly focused on introducing the young lawyers and the activities across different branches and exchanging ideas and suggestions for the activities of the Youth Work Committee. Yang Hua, Deputy Director of the Youth Work Committee and a lawyer from the Hefei branch, drawing from her professional experience and the future planning of the Youth Work Committee's lecturer team, encouraged and assisted young lawyers to specialize in their fields. Xie Ziqian, a lawyer from the Guangzhou branch, recounted the experience of organizing skill competitions and outlined Landing Guangzhou's invaluable experience in nurturing young lawyers, including the establishment of the OKR regime, thus integrating the team's overarching objectives with the specific professional strengths of young lawyers to collectively further their business pursuits. Lin Yi, a lawyer from the Kunming branch, described a recent philanthropic initiative that saw participation from various Landing branches. Led by the Kunming branch, the initiative involved donating unused books and toys to children aged 3-6 in underprivileged areas of Yunnan. The Youth Work Committee plans to continually roll out a series of charitable activities under Landing's banner to better contribute to society. Zhou Zijun, Deputy Director of the Youth Work Committee and a lawyer from the Xi'an branch, provided an overview of the "Landing Silk Road" activities and previewed that the second Landing Skills Competition would occur at the relocation of the Xi'an branch either at year-end or in early January. Wu Xuehua, a lawyer from the Changsha branch, noted that while the young lawyer team in Changsha is expanding, its members are scattered across various units with infrequent close interaction. Moving forward, they intend to enhance the participation and enthusiasm of young lawyers in the activities of the Youth Work Committee. Furthermore, Wu Xuehua offered thoughtful and relevant suggestions on formulating incentives for young lawyers and incorporating community service into Landing's philanthropic endeavors. Zhou Shichao, a lawyer from the Shenzhen branch, discussed the state of young lawyers in Shenzhen and, aligning with his specialized expertise, proposed the concept of creating a Landing platform for foreign-related cases, thereby fostering closer collaboration among Landing's global branches and offices. Wan Song, a lawyer from the Nanchang branch, shared his experiences in cases related to the authenticity verification of seals in the construction sector, unmasking many intricate "tactics" inherent in the management of seals within the construction industry. Fu Jinxia, a lawyer from the Lanzhou branch, detailed the array of activities and their subsequent impact since the inception of the Youth Work Committee in the Lanzhou branch. Additionally, she warmly extended an invitation for the second season of the "Landing Silk Road" to be hosted in Lanzhou and expressed her keen anticipation for the event.
In the final summarizing segment of the meeting, Senior Partners at Landing, Zhang Bing and Ye Yunkai, drawing on their professional experiences, imparted insights on specialization within the legal profession to the attending members. Representing Landing Offices, they conveyed strong expectations for the Youth Work Committee and offered precious recommendations. They motivated the majority of young lawyers to foster close collaboration within Landing and to enhance external communications, including engaging in cross-border exchanges.
This meeting marked the first full committee gathering following the formation of Landing's Youth Work Committee. It served to clarify the committee's work plan and conceptual framework, stimulating the members' enthusiasm for contributing ideas to the development of the Youth Work Committee, and simultaneously strengthening the cohesion among the members. Looking forward, Landing's Youth Work Committee is committed to providing a nurturing environment for the growth of young lawyers and making concerted efforts to create a unified Landing youth community.
