 Partial international activities

 

On August 12th, Shanghai Landing Law Offices (Changsha)'s Director Yin Xiangnan was invited to host a special lecture titled "The Role of Lawyers in Promoting the Construction of Global Research and Development Centers," sponsored by the Hunan Lawyers Association and organized by the Continuing Education and Training Committee, the Foreign-Related and Anti-Monopoly and Anti-Dumping Professional Committee, and the Intellectual Property Professional Committee of the Hunan Lawyers Association.

 

On August 26th, Senior Partner Li Xinli and Li Yueqing served as judges for the 3rd Mainland and Hong Kong-Macao University Student Mock Court (Arbitration Tribunal) Competition (conducted entirely in English). They respectively acted as arbitrators for 2-3 matches, providing comments on the participants' performances and deciding which teams would advance. The students were well-prepared and demonstrated excellent legal knowledge and proficiency in English.

 

In August, Senior Partner Wang Yunqing accepted an assignment from a state-owned listed group ranked among the Fortune Global 500 and World's Top 500 Brands, which is mainly engaged in international commodity trading. With topics such as multinational supply chains, risks in commodity trading, compliance of state-owned enterprises in overseas operations, and an introduction to Brazilian laws, Lawyer Wang delivered two legal training sessions titled "Analysis of Common Dispute Resolution Clauses and Risks in International Goods Trade Contracts" and "Common Issues and Risk Control in Chinese Enterprises' Investments and Operations in Brazil." These sessions were specifically designed for business and legal personnel from various departments of the group who are about to be dispatched to Brazil or engage in business with Brazil. The training received wide acclaim from the client group.

 

On August 26th, Shanghai Landing Law Offices (Changsha)'s Director Yin Xiangnan was invited to participate in the "Theme Training on Criminal and Foreign-Related Legal Services for Lawyers in the City," hosted by the Hunan Lawyers Association and organized by the Judicial Bureau of Yiyang City, Yiyang Lawyers Association, Criminal Professional Committee, and Foreign-Related and Anti-Monopoly and Anti-Dumping Professional Committee of the Hunan Lawyers Association. She delivered a special training course on the topic of "The Positioning of Lawyers in Foreign-Related Legal Services."

 

On August 30th, Senior Partner Li Xinli and Wang Yunqing had a discussion with Ben Olbourne, a lawyer and arbitrator from the Singapore office of the British law firm 39 Essex Chambers. Both expressed their desire to cooperate in the field of international commercial dispute resolution in the future.

 

On August 31st, a delegation of five members from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce visited the law firm for research purposes. The delegation included Luo Zhisong, Chief Economist of the Municipal Commission of Commerce; Shen Weilai, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation; Jin Jue, Senior Officer of the First Division; Jiang Yiwen, Director of the Shanghai Overseas Rescue Service Center; and Shao Qing, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Overseas Rescue Service Center. Lawyers Yin Jun, Li Xinli, Wang Jianyong, Hu Min, Zhao Tianjiao, and Sun Qian participated in the research. Lawyer Yin Jun introduced the firm to the guests, and other attending lawyers provided suggestions regarding proposed policies supporting the internationalization of the legal profession.
