On April 20, 2023, the list of the Second Typical Cases of the Chinese Lawyers’ Public Welfare (Social Responsibility) was announced. “Overseas Legal Practice Project for Hundred ECUPL Students”, co-conducted by LANDING and ECUPL, was recognized as one of the 10 typical cases of donation and scholarship.

The Second Typical Cases of the Chinese Lawyers’ Public Welfare (Social Responsibility) collection project, co-hosted by Legal Daily and the Lawyering Research Center of China University of Political Science and Law, is designed to further exploit the innovative practice of the public welfare (social responsibility) in the lawyering industry, summarize and promote the typical experience and practice, guide more lawyers to be engaged in public welfare undertakings. The activity has attracted extensive attention from all walks of life, with active participation and declaration by the bar associations and law firms across the country. During the collection phase, the committee received thousands of declaration cases. After the initial selection and online voting, combined with experts’ opinions, 10 typical cases and 10 nomination cases were finally selected in every 11 categories.

The award-winning case, “Overseas Legal Practice Project for Hundred ECUPL Students”, is a key cooperation program between LANDING and East China University of Political Science and Law(ECUPL), which will help 100 ECUPL students to study and practice in the law firms of countries and regions engaged in the “Belt and Road” initiative in five years. The students can learn and understand the local legal environment, and quickly improve their professional skills, so that they can become the earliest batch of legal talents of foreign related laws of the country where they have stayed, and make contribution to the cultivation of foreign talents of the “Belt and Road” initiative of China. Up till now, the first four students of this program have started their legal study career in Bangkok, Thailand in December, 2022.
