The 2023 Customs Law Annual Conference of the Customs Law Research Institute of Shanghai Law Society and the 16th Customs Law Forum was held in Qinhuangdao City from Jul. 21 to 22, 2023. With the theme of “Chinese-style of Modernization and Customs Law Practice”, this forum was hosted by the Customs Law Research Institute of Shanghai Law Society and co-organized by the Customs Law Research Center of Chinese Academy of Customs Administration. The forum was conducted in a hybrid mode, both online and on-site, with the participation of more than 200 representatives from different industries such as the Customs, colleges and universities, industry associations, research institutes, justice institutes, law firms and enterprises. Mr. FENG Haibin, senior partner of LANDING Shenzhen, was invited to attend the forum and share his views.

On Jul.21,2023, LANDING and LexisNexis conducted a special event on the topic of “Review and Response under New Regulations on Internet Advertisement” in Shanghai LANDING Law Office, located at 16/F, East Tower, Raffles City in the North Bund, Shanghai. A number of professional lawyers specialized in Internet and new media laws delivered presentations and interacted with the guests from enterprises on the key compliance issues in the industry, such as live-streaming advertising, soft-sell advertising on new media, and ads for drugs, medical devices, health food and formula food for special medical purposes, in order to help the enterprises to establish a systematic perspective on advertising compliance and risk control, and to point out high-risk issues that the enterprises are prone to overlook. The rapid development of Internet promotion and sales method such as live broadcast marketing has provided a new engine for corporate revenue growth. However, in recent years, regulatory agencies have continuously tightened their scrutiny on such emerging sales forms. The "Measures for the Administration of Internet Advertising" implemented on May 1 has increased the compliance risk of corporate brand promotion, and huge advertising fines have become the sword of Damocles hanging over the head of all 2C enterprises.

On July 18, 2023, the 5th High-end Forum on Rule of Law Cooperation along the "Silk Road," guided by the Think Tanks Cooperation Alliance of "Belt and Road" under the International Department, Central Committee of CPC, hosted by Gansu Political Science and Law University and Gansu Law Society, and organized by School of Foreign Affairs and Law (School of International Exchange) of Gansu Political Science and Law University, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of Gansu Political Science and Law University, and Dunhuang Law Society, with support from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Law Schools Alliance and Shanghai Landing (Lanzhou) Law Offices , was held in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. The forum focused on the theme of "Deepening Rule of Law Cooperation, Building a Prosperous Silk Road."
